Glen Willow Stadium in Mudgee will host the first ever Mudgee Night Glow on Saturday 25th May 2019. The evening will include a family friendly night market offering some of the region’s best food, wine and hand-made crafts, along with live musical performances to entertain you.
The festivities will also include roving performers, face-painting and jumping castles to keep kids of all ages entertained. This event is all about lighting up the night so glow-in-the-dark t-shirts, glasses, headbands and other glow items will all be available for purchase during the event so that you can ‘Get your glow on’.There will be various hot air balloons on display during the night including special-shape balloons that are sure to delight.
The main event will be the spectacular balloon Night Glow which will see hot air balloons inflated and tethered in the Glen Willow Stadium. The Night Glow will be choreographed to music and will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display in what will be a wonderful family night out.
5.00pm - 7.45pm Take a walk through a semi-inflated balloon & learn how a balloon operates from former two-time Women's World Ballooning Champion, Nicola Scaife.
5.00pm - 8.00pm Enjoy live music from the Coconut Trio on stage as well as roving performances throughout the night.
5.00pm - 8.00pm The kids will be entertained with face painting and jumping castles available on the night. Stop by the Night Glow Merchandise Stall to grab a glow in the dark hoodie, LED glasses, headbands and much more.
From 5.00pm view special shape balloons including the Nudie and Heart Shape Balloon and watch the fun mini balloon display overhead.
8.00pm Make sure you are seated in time to enjoy the spectacular balloon night glow which will start at 8.00pm (weather permitting). Watch as the tethered balloons light up the night sky in a choreographed performance.
A fireworks display over Glen Willow Stadium provides an exciting finale to the Mudgee Night Glow.
5.00pm - 9.00pm Experience some of the Mudgee’s best local food and wine as well as some of the regions most exciting Street Food. Bring along a picnic rug and enjoy dinner under the stars and taste some local wines at the markets or purchase wine at the on-site cellar doors.
The Mudgee Night Glow festivities begin from 5.00pm (gates opening at 4pm) and run through until 9pm, making this a family friendly event.
A free shuttle will be operating on the night. Pick up locations will be Mudgee Visitor Information Centre, Mudgee High School, St Matthews Catholic School, and Mudgee Racecourse. Shuttle pick-ups will operate between 4:00pm and 5:30pm. Further details will be posted on the event page - bit.ly/MGNightGlowEvent in the weeks before the event.
Please be aware that this event is weather dependent so in the event of extreme weather conditions, ticket holders will receive an email on the day of the event advising of event cancellation. Event updates will also be posted on the Event Facebook page. In the unlikely event of a complete weather cancellation, all tickets will be refunded in full.
The Mudgee Night Glow is all about getting your own glow on so we can all light up the night together. There will be major prizes on offer on the night for the best glow-in-the-dark outfits. Come along in your own glow-in-the-dark gear or stop by the Night Glow souvenir tent to grab a glow shirt or hoodie, LED glasses, headbands and much more.
Homemade food items are allowed to be bought into the event along with non-metal cutlery only - we suggest reusable plastic or bamboo cutlery. A range of food and beverages outlets will be available on the evening. Bring your own picnic blankets or seating to make the most of your Mudgee Night Glow experience. No Umbrellas Allowed, No Tables Allowed.
Small Soft Eskys/Cooler Bag Style are allowed to be bought into the event. BYO alcohol will not be permitted. Bags/Esky Bags will be searched at the Event entry points.
No parking, other than mobility parking will be available on site. Park at either the Mudgee Visitor Information Centre, Mudgee High School, St Matthews Catholic School or Mudgee Racecourse and catch the free shuttle to the event.
Mobility parking spaces are available onsite at Glen Willow Stadium. Vehicles with a valid RMS issued Mobility Parking Permit will be able to park onsite. Parking attendants will be onsite to direct you to the correct parking area. No other parking will be available on site.
Tickets are refundable up until 30 days before the event. No refunds will be offered after this time (other than in the event of weather cancellation) but are transferable. In the event of extreme weather, that would prevent the entire event from proceeding, tickets will be refunded.
While every attempt is made to present the program as advertised, the program may be subject to change without notice. No refunds will be given due to a change in programming or weather restrictions.

Come along and enjoy even more ballooning action on the morning of the 26th May with the first flight competition of the Mudgee Hot Air Ballooning Festival taking place. The main event of the morning will be the traditional ballooning Key Grab competition. Pilots will fly their balloons into Blue Wren Wines guided purely by the winds to try to grab a key from a flagpole in an attempt to win a major prize. Spectators will take in the magnificent air display while enjoying a glass of locally produced Bubbles, strawberries and chocolates on the lawns of Blue Wren Wines followed by a delicious breakfast. Local produce markets will also be operating on the morning. Ticket are $45 per person or $40 for Mudgee Night Glow Ticket holders.
